Furnace Problems?

Forced-air furnaces are generally exceptionally reliable pieces of equipment. They run for years and years with very little maintenance and the only time we really notice them is when there is something wrong. If your furnace starts to make a lot of noise (or the odd strange noise) it’s time for a check up. Similarly, if you start to notice that parts (or all) of your house are not as comfortable as they should be, or if it seems like there is too little or too much air coming through a particular heat duct, it is a good idea to have your heating system checked and repaired if necessary before you have a major problem. There are also some rare but potentially very dangerous problems (such as cracked heat exchangers) that can develop in heating systems. So it is a very good idea to have your heating system regularly checked, tuned up, and maintained by a qualified professional.

Boiler, Radiator, or Radiant Floor Heating Issues?

The one thing these all have in common is that they all have hot water running through them. These are called “Hydronic” Heating Systems. Radiators and radiant floor heating systems generally don’t give too much trouble, and boilers (like furnaces) are generally very reliable. But occasionally you might get an air lock in the water piping or something may get out of adjustment or just plain wear-out. A properly installed and operating hydronic heating systems should be very quiet when it is running (especially in-floor heat). This can make it hard to tell when things are not working properly. For this reason it is especially important to schedule regular maintenance and check ups for your heating system. At least with a forced-air heating system you have to visit the furnace from time to time to change the air filter. But you depend on your boiler to work perfectly all winter long. Heat Pumps and Air-conditioners

Of course we can’t guarantee that regular maintenance will prevent your heater from quitting you in the middle of a snow storm but it will significantly reduce the possibility. Plus we can ensure that your equipment is operating at its maximum efficiency and that means energy and utility bill savings for you and your home.
